We understand serious anglers have roller trailers. Many drive their boats on their trailers to load, which sometimes goes perfectly well, or damage can occur. Many anglers hand-crank their boats to be safe and prevent damage to the motor, water pump, trailer, boat, etc. Other states have laws where you can't power load your boat at the access. This has become very common, and then some people can't physically do the task anymore. Our goal is to help all these situations. We have used this winch for several other applications, including in other industries. If you are mounting this to something different than a boat trailer, I would ask you to contact us. We can build the winch differently for your needs, right or left hand or a two-way ratchet cog so the winch does not free spool.
Tools needed: A high-quality 18-volt or 20-volt cordless drill with a 1/2-inch chuck and lithium batteries is essential. Cordless drills that feature a hammer mode function enhance pulling power. Please avoid using hammer mode or applying impact to the winch during operation, as this can damage the winch teeth over time; however, it will not harm the tools we manufacture. You can use your cordless drill on the lowest gear setting and get a drill with a handle. This helps, as well as the winch adapter conversion kit and the low-gear drive shaft on your winch. We typically use this setup for fishing boats that are 22 feet or less, including fiberglass speed Boats, aluminum bunk, or roller trailers. Wetting the bunks beforehand can be helpful, especially for heavier aluminum or fiberglass bass boats. For kayaks, PWCs, or canoes, this will assist with boat lifts in lifting or supporting you with PWC lifts. It suits older boat lifts and fishing boats with a 50 hp engine or less. We do not recommend using this winch to lift anything heavier. Please use the winch system that came with your lift. This winch is not designed to load anything above you safely or to carry humans. A complete brake winch is what you should look for if you're looking to do this. We also offer winches that do not have a free spool function, like boat trailer winches, if needed for drill use, but no complete brake winch is available here. If you have a small trailer and want to winch something like a lawn tractor or something, this same winch is fantastic. The winch has limitations on what it can safely pull, and your drill has limitations on being safe, so please choose the correct winch for your needs or application. The winch is not recommended for winching cars on trailers. Things like that are too much.
Please check the measurements of our winch before ordering. Some trailers may not have enough room, or bracing may interfere with others. The center mounting holes are usually the same as those on your old winch.
A strap is not included with the winch; however, we have one on our website for purchase. If needed, you can also use a cable with this winch. A winch drum cable clamp is provided in the box. This clamp is crucial for securing the cable to the winch drum, ensuring your winch's safe and efficient operation.
