The Side Axle Tool Kit contains two winch adapters, three snap rings, a tool socket, and an industrial drill adapter. The ICNUT is made here in Minnesota by a small family-owned company and is of excellent quality and strength. Also included is a 7/16 hex industrial drill-to-socket adapter of exceptional quality and strength for use with a 1/2 cordless drill 18v 20v no impacts, and the tool kit also includes a 1/2 tool socket with a lifetime warranty—currently DeWalt Sockets. Please review the winch photos below to ensure you have the proper winch before ordering. As you can see below, the winches have removable quick-release handles with two drive shafts, high and low gear. Also, you will see no nut holding the winch handle to the winch. If you have a nut holding your winch handle from the factory, you most likely have a high-gear winch, only a different winch altogether, which is incompatible. You will need the updated two-speed winch we sell so you have the low gear to work in combination with your cordless drill in low gear together for lifting.
This product protects the end of the winch shaft from getting damaged. Other all-in-one winch bits on the market have caused damage to the winch shafts and vibration through the winch because of improper machining, creating a wobble and loose fitment, which have caused handles to fall off on the highway. Also, all of these other tools are too shallow in the socket end, which puts inward pressure on the winch shaft drive shaft retainers, which can cause the winch shaft retainer to bend and fly out, drop your ice house, and damage winch components. We use an accurate self-centering system to reduce vibration in the winch. Our heavy-duty drill adapter is meant to fit correctly in your 1/2-inch drill chuck better than other Chinese tools on eBay, Amazon, or Etsy. These platforms advertise these big promises, but with more research, most of these tools are improperly machined in China. Other tools weld a stem into their bit; the heat makes the tool wobble in your drill, and some loose-fitting Chinese bits are made from soft metal. The ICNUTS Side Axle tool kit is designed to use heavy-duty winches on a wide range of fish house models, including 8x16 or larger 2014-1/2 year split in 2014 so 2015 and newer Ice Castle Yetti, Glacier, Polar Crib, Team Lodge, Nordic Lodge, Fish Houses, and Home-Built or all Forest River model Ice Shacks. You can add our winches on most 6.5-foot model fish houses. Examples include 6.5 x 8, 6.5 x 12, 6.5 x 14, and 6.5 x 16 because the winch has the same bolt mounting pattern as your old existing winch bolt holes. We have complete winch and tool kits, usually on sale at the bottom of our homepage if you do not have the correct winch. Our winches fit 6.5ft models up to 24 ft tandem axle fish houses. They offer custom handles, custom gear ratios, 2-speed transmission, 2-way ratchet brake cog, added zinc to prevent rust, are American-made, and have a 5-year warranty on the winch and Lifetime warranty on ICNUTS winch adapters for breakage.
The ICNUTS Side Axle kit includes everything you need to convert your hand crank winch system to an electric winch using a 1/2 18v 20 v cordless drill. This system outlasts ATV-style winches, which fail due to moisture entering the electric motor, causing corrosion and making the winch unreliable. The system works; it's easy. Have you ever seen all the failures of hydraulic fish house trailers in the cold, and how expensive are they for a hydraulic house? It's expensive. Many women, Anglers, and Men can easily use the ICNUTS system with a good, dry, dependable cordless drill. Manny Resorts uses this system also.
To use, remove the stock quick-release winch handles and install the ICNUTS winch adapters with snap rings to the low gear on the winches. These would be the upper shafts on your house's side winches, also installed on the same shaft on the front hitch of your trailer. Put your 18-volt or 20-volt Drill in low gear and let your drill do the work. This combination of the drill in low gear and the use of low gear on the winch is a perfect match for lifting. Please do not use impacts or hammer gear on your drill. It will damage the winch, not our tools.

We sent a third snap ring in case you need it in the package. The ICNUTS winch adapter "nut" has a lifetime breakage warranty and is made in Minnesota, USA. The 7/16 hex industrial drill-to-socket adapter carries a one-year, 12-month warranty from the time of purchase. It is of very high quality, very heavy-duty steel. Since 2015, we have had no issues with this drill adapter. It is overkill in strength for this usage and excellent quality. The socket currently has a lifetime warranty from DeWalt. All these components ensure that your investment is protected for the long term. All these quality tools will provide years of service.
